Disney Vacation Club has officially announced today what many fans have "unofficially" known for months - new DVC units will be built at the Wilderness Lodge. Plans submitted earlier this year were for 26 waterfront cabins which will be part of the Disney Vacation Club villas at the resort.

Getting from Disney's Wilderness Lodge to one of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, water parks, or Downtown Disney is relatively easy if you know your transportation options. Wilderness Lodge guests have two choices when it comes to Disney Parks transportation - the bus or a boat.

We recently reported on the upcoming construction project planned at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and now we know that guests who have reservations at the Wilderness Lodge this fall are starting to receive letters from the resort informing them of the construction.

The construction of the 26 waterside bungalows at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is expected to begin in October and will cause several areas of the resort to be closed for an extended period of time including the beach, playground, leisure pool, and fire pit. Guests will also be unable to rent bikes or boats during construction.

Guests can now stop by the Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge for a morning cup of coffee and some pastries! A new place to grab a quick breakfast on the go! We'd love to hear about your experience at this new grab-and-go location!

The Wilderness Lodge is planning to add 26 waterside bungalows to its Disney Vacation Club portfolio, much like the over-the-water bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. Construction is expected to start later this year at the resort.
