On January 15th, 2013 the My Disney Experience Website began allowing Walt Disney World Resort Guests who have paid their reservations in full to check in 60 Days in advance of their arrival date. This is a significant increase from the previous 10 day online check in window. The extended time is thought to begin laying the groundwork to connect the new MyMagic+ system that will be rolled out soon.

One of the wonderful things about Walt Disney World Resorts is the close attention paid to every detail, including regular wear and tear. In order to keep the guest experience fresh and maintain the high standards of quality regular refurbishments are scheduled to occur. Recently we've talked about the bedding changes coming to the DVC Villas and the furnishing and design updates completed in the rest of the resort, here's a look at what else is going on.

With the New Year being just a few days away, DVC Members with Wilderness Lodge as their "Home" resort are only a month away from the 11 month booking window for January 2014 vacations. News from the 2013 DVC Condo Owners Association Meeting says that Disney will be eliminating the heavy bedspreads found in most resorts to bring bed linens at the Villas in line with the rising industry standard of triple sheeting.

Today we're happy to share with you some pictures of the 2012 Refurbishments made to Disney's Wilderness Lodge! The new style elements create a warm feeling reminiscent of Indian Trade Blankets of days gone by. The deeper red, white and black colors of the lobby add to the feeling of the Pacific Northwest.

It's been about six years since I've been able to make it down to Disney for Christmas and I had no idea how much that there really is going on! It's that time of year again when the Wilderness Lodge decks it's halls with wonderful North Woods Christmas finery. It may just be the Walt Disney World Resort with the most holiday spirit of all. This past week our friends over at AllEars.net put up a new video showcasing all the beautiful 2012 decorations adorned with red poinsettias, rustic ornaments, twinkling lights and moose antlers.

No matter how many times I visit the Wilderness Lodge I always stop into the Mercantile to see what's new. By far this is one of my favorite Resort gift shops with a huge selection of both standard Disney Gear as well as specialized resort themed swag. I only needed to pop my head in the door to see that there were some fantastic new find that I could share with you.

In 2011 the readers of Walt Disney World for Grown Ups voted the Wilderness Lodge the best resort to spend your winter holiday in, and we couldn’t agree more! Christmas time here is even more magical because of the Northwoods inspired décor in rustic hues of red and green upon piney boughs. You may even forget that you’re in sunny Florida and wonder where the snow is!

Looks like our favorite spot to gather with friends and family is changing up their menu again. The Whispering Canyon Cafe recently revealed a menu redo, that's got people talking. Love it or heat it there's one thing for sure and that's that the Disney experience will always be growing and changing.
